Workplace Inclusion

Fengate is proud to announce that our firm has been named on Canada’s 2022 Best Workplaces for Inclusion list by Great Place to Work®.

Fengate ranked in the top organizations for inclusion based on direct feedback from employees of the hundreds of organizations that were surveyed, and after a thorough and independent analysis conducted by Great Place to Work® a global research and consulting firm that provides the benchmarks and expertise needed to create, sustain, and recognize outstanding workplace cultures.

“We are so proud of this recognition as not only is it a testament to our firm’s core values, but it further strengthens our ongoing commitment towards cultivating a workplace that promotes equity, belonging, inclusion, and diversity, ensuring that all employees feel recognized and connected,” said Jaime McKenna, Managing Director, Group Head of Real Estate and EBID Think Tank Co-Chair at Fengate.

Last year, Fengate became a signatory for the Institutional Limited Partners Association (ILPA) Diversity in Action initiative, joining a roster of other limited and general partners who share a commitment to advancing diversity, equity and inclusion in the private equity industry. In the same year, Fengate established its Equity, Belonging, Inclusion and Diversity (EBID) Think Tank to help drive the firm’s ongoing strategy towards fostering an inclusive workplace.

Dedicated to ensuring all backgrounds and perspectives — including race, ethnicity, culture, nationality, faith, spiritual beliefs, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, and abilities — are valued, sought after, and celebrated, Fengate launched an annual firmwide mandatory inclusion survey to gather feedback around diversity and inclusion, and has implemented compulsory non-conscious biased training for all hiring managers.

“At Fengate, we are enriched by the diversity of our team, and a diverse workforce remains a top priority towards delivering on our long-term commitment to inclusivity. It is our belief that an environment where every team member can be their authentic self is fundamental to the happiness of our people, which directly impacts our competitive advantage and ultimately, the success of our business,” said Jennifer Honey Brannon, Executive Vice President, HR and Internal Operations at Fengate.

This award is the latest in a series of similar honours for Fengate. Earlier this year, Fengate was named as one of Canada’s Best Workplaces, and it was recognized as a Best Workplace in the Financial Services & Insurance; for Women, Today’s Youth; and Professional Development. Additionally, Fengate has been recognized as one of “Canada’s Best Managed Companies” since 2007.
