The Embassy of Canada in Washington spotlights Prince George’s County Public Schools project

The Embassy of Canada in Washington recently published an article about the innovative Prince George’s County Public Schools alternative construction financing project. The Fengate-led consortium, Prince George’s County Education & Community Partners, was selected to design build, finance and maintain six public schools in Maryland and commercial and financial close was reached January 2021 as well as an announcement about a $1 million endowed fund supporting scholarships, student internships, mentoring opportunities and apprenticeships valued at $4.7 million. The project is special because the jurisdiction will be the first in the U.S. to partner with the private sector to bundle a multi-school delivery program, one which will deliver these critical community assets by 2023.
