Fengate becomes TNFD forum member with aim to drive nature-positive outcomes

October 5, 2023

Fengate is pleased to announce that we have officially become a TNFD (Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures) forum member.

TNFD is a market-led, science-based, and government-supported global initiative working to provide risk management and disclosure frameworks for organizations to manage and address nature-related and biodiversity dependencies, impacts, risks and opportunities.

The World Economic Forum reports that nature loss poses significant risks and opportunities for businesses both in the present and in the future. More than half of the world’s economic output, a value of $44 trillion, is moderately or highly dependent on nature. The UN Biodiversity Conference in December 2022 reached a landmark agreement with 188 countries to protect 30 per cent of the planet’s lands, coastal areas, and inland waters by the end of the decade.

Recognizing this, and as part of Fengate’s ongoing work on our environmental, social and governance responsibilities, our goal is to work alongside the TNFD to embed nature-related risk into our firm’s strategic planning, operations, risk management processes and asset management activities to create long-term sustainable value for our investors and the communities in which we work and invest in.
