Vernita Tsang is a trusted advisor to Fengate's executive team and business lines, providing legal counsel, strategic advice and leadership across the organization.  She has over 20 years of professional legal experience.  She joined the firm in 2016 and was promoted to General Counsel in 2021.  In her executive role, Vernita leads Fengate's legal, compliance and responsible investment functions and serves as Secretary to the Board and its committees.

Prior to her current role, Vernita was Vice-President, Legal.  Drawing on her expertise in projects, project-finance, asset management and fund formation, she provided legal leadership to support the Infrastructure division of Fengate.

Prior to joining Fengate, Vernita was at Infrastructure Ontario advising authority clients on all aspects of major civil, social and transit infrastructure projects delivered through public-private partnership models. Vernita began her legal career in the real estate group at McCarthy Tetrault LLP.

Vernita earned her Hon. B.Sc. from the University of Toronto, her J.D. from the University of Ottawa and was called to the Ontario bar in 2005.  She holds the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors.
