Fengate is pleased to congratulate Valerie Blinch, Director, Infrastructure Investments, on being shortlisted for the 2021 Emerging Leader award by the Women’ Infrastructure Network (WIN), following her nomination for the award earlier this year.

Valerie holds more than 13 years of progressive experience in the industry. She started her career as a commercial lawyer, practicing in infrastructure and project finance within one of Canada’s top legal firms. Since moving to Fengate, she has been a powerhouse in leading transaction execution, commercial structuring, and risk management.

At Fengate, Valerie has skillfully guided the financial close of the US$2 billion LAX ConRAC project in Los Angeles, the US$550 million Newark Airport ConRAC project in New Jersey, the CA$1.1 billion Macdonald Block project in Toronto, and the US$600 million Prince George’s County Public Schools project just outside Washington, D.C., among other achievements. She is member of Fengate’s Equality, Belonging, Inclusion and Diversity Think Tank, and a valuable leader and mentor for our infrastructure team.

Since 2015, the annual WIN Awards Program recognizes exceptional women in the Canadian infrastructure industry and their contributions. These awards recognize women who have distinguished themselves in both their profession and within the infrastructure sector, while demonstrating a unique ability to guide and inspire others. WIN has over 1,000 members across Canada and is designed for women in infrastructure to help facilitate connections and networking, exchange ideas and help shape the infrastructure agenda.

Andrea McLean, Vice President, Infrastructure Asset Management, and Vernita Tsang, Vice President, Legal, were also nominated for this year’s awards. The complete list of nominees and winners can be found here. Congratulations to all on this well-deserved recognition!
