Lou Serafini Jr. provides insights on public-private partnerships for TVO’s The Agenda

June 25, 2019

Fengate’s President and CEO, Lou Serafini Jr. was asked to appear on TVO’s The Agenda to discuss the public-private partnership (P3) model and process. In conversation with host Steve Paikin, Lou gave an overview of the P3 approach, discussed current P3 projects underway, and also took time to address common misperceptions about P3, emphasizing:

  • that ownership of the project always remains with the government;
  • P3s can bring innovation and attract world-class firms with needed expertise; and
  • the discipline of private sector financing in P3s raises the bar with meeting budgets, deadlines and operations expectations.

Lou also covered how, in Ontario, we are lucky to have the centre of excellence around P3s that is Infrastructure Ontario. Fengate is proud to have been a part of 16 P3 projects in Ontario and 7 more across Canada, and two in the United States, to date.
