Fengate Pomerleau consortium shortlisted for the Gander and Grand Falls-Windsor Care Homes project

July 9, 2018

The provincial government of Newfoundland and Labrador has identified Newfoundland and Labrador Healthcare Partners, a consortium comprising Fengate, Pomerleau, Architecture49, G architects, Gibbons Snow Architects, WSP Canada, Malcolm Pinto Engineering, and Jewer Bailey Consultants, as one of three shortlisted groups to design, build, finance and maintain the Gander and Grand Falls-Windsor Care Homes project in a public-private partnership.

The project includes two facilities, in Gander and Grand Falls-Windsor, that will each provide 60 long-term care beds. The Gander facility will be designed and constructed with the potential for future expansion of approximately 100 additional beds. Addressing pressures on the acute care system in the province, the project is focused on improving access to long-term care bed placement.

Construction on both projects will begin in 2019, creating more than 343 person-years of employment and $39 million in economic activity. This initiative delivers on the government of Newfoundland and Labrador`s commitment to strengthen the province’s economic foundation and deliver better services and better outcomes for residents.
