We have a robust learning and development program to help employees become high-performers and great leaders with development and advancement plans, education assistance, and FUEL (Fengate University: Engaged Learning).
Our wellness programs promote the importance of physical, mental and emotional well-being through education, workshops, initiatives, and benefits.
5 out of 8 members of our Executive Leadership Team are women, and our EBID (Equity, Belonging, Inclusion and Diversity) Think Tank informs our ongoing strategy to ensure all backgrounds and perspectives are valued, sought after, and celebrated.
We support work-related ERGs (Employee Resource Groups) that allow employees with similar interests to connect with each other (ex. Women@Fengate, Emerging Leaders).
Our FUNgate social committee plans extracurricular activities and events such as our sports teams, Dine & Discover luncheons, and various social and team-building activities.

We integrate and champion ESG (environmental, social, and corporate governance) in each line of business, incorporating UNPRI (United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment) into our long-term decision making.
We aim to minimize our investments’ environmental impact and support global energy transition, amplify the health, safety, and well-being of our employees and communities, and uphold strong governance principles and ethical conduct.
In September 2024, we released our inaugural Sustainability Report highlighting key ESG initiatives and progress in 2023 and Q1 of 2024, and look ahead to opportunities for continuous improvement.

Giving Back

Fengate has never forgotten where it came from, and strives to support worthwhile causes that help improve lives within the communities in which we work.

The Fengate Community Foundation (FCF), now a more than $2 million grant administered by the Hamilton Community Foundation, supports causes in our hometown of Hamilton and the surrounding area, as well as across Canada and the U.S.
As part of Louis Serafini Community Partnership Day, each year we volunteer with Holiday Helpers Canada, a registered charity whose mission is to provide a one-time Christmas package to low-income families with young children who are trying to improve their situation.
The FCF and Fengate Recreation Fund (FRF) have supported high-impact initiatives in the Hamilton areas, including the Serafini Family Ice and Splash Pad at the Bernie Morelli Recreation Centre (completed in 2019), as well as Fit, Active, Beautiful (FAB) and Prodigal Sonz youth programs.
We support causes such as the Kerr St. Mission and MusiCounts, and participate in seasonal food and toy drives, charity fundraisers, and make volunteering easy through Keen To Help.
Each Fengate employee is allowed to take 3 days of the year to volunteer at their charity of choice.
