Fengate, VINCI, Parsons consortium shortlisted for the Nova Scotia Highway Twinning P3 project

January 28, 2019

Nova Scotia’s Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal has identified Atlantic Safelink Partners — a consortium comprising Fengate Asset Management (“Fengate”), VINCI Construction, Parsons, Eurovia, Wood Canada, Northern Group and Zutphen  — as one of three shortlisted groups to design, build, finance, operate and maintain the Highway 104 Twinning project in a public-private partnership. Thirty-eight kilometers between Sutherlands River, Pictou Co. and Antigonish will be twinned as well as the construction of new interchanges and bridges.

The twinning project is in place for greatly improved safety and transportation – at least 15 fatal motor vehicle crashes have taken place between 2009 and 2017 along this route, currently one of the province’s most dangerous stretches of road. Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal Minister Lloyd Hines says the twinning project will make this portion of highway more safe, benefiting generations to come.

The department expects to announce the winning consortium in early 2020 and the twinning of Highway 1-0-4 is to be completed by the end of 2023. For more information, please see the official news release and related CBC coverage.
