In the March/April issue of ReNew Canada magazine, an article by Lou Serafini Jr. is the featured cover story. His article, “Building for 2067, A long-term perspective for infrastructure planning”, covers the many forces influencing Canada’s need to effectively implement long-term infrastructure planning initiatives, including: the increasingly competitive global marketplace where Canadian industries compete, widespread urbanization trends across Canada, and the impacts of climate change and extreme weather events on infrastructure assets. Mr. Serafini asserts that the solution to delivering effective infrastructure solutions that last more than 30, 40 or 50 years, “centres around using a performance-based approach that remains flexible enough to adapt to a changing environment and continues to deliver innovative solutions.”
