Michael Boychuk, FCPA, FCA
Michael Boychuk is currently a Corporate Director. He was, until his retirement in 2015, President of Bimcor Inc., one of Canada’s largest private sector pension plan managers. Prior to this position, Mr. Boychuk was the Senior Vice President and Corporate Treasurer of BCE Inc. and Bell Canada, where he was responsible for all Treasury and Capital Markets activities of the BCE group of companies. He was also responsible for all mergers and acquisition activities of the Corporation.
Mr. Boychuk has been a member of a number of public as well as private sector boards including MTS, Bell Nordiq, Yellow Media, Optasite, and IIROC. He has served on various board committees and has extensive experience working on audit committees. He currently is a member of the Board of Directors of the Laurentian Bank of Canada and serves on the Audit Committee, as well as Lead Director and Chair of the Audit Committee of GDI Integrated Services and member of the Board and audit committee of Telesat Canada Inc.. He is also a member of the Investment Advisory Committees of Nunavut Trust and the McConnell Foundation, and Chair of the Pension Investment committee of the McGill University Pension fund.
Mr. Boychuk is a Governor of McGill University and is Chair of the University’s Audit Committee, and Chair of the University’s Pension Investment Committee, as well as a member of the International Advisory Board of the Faculty of Management of McGill University. Mr. Boychuk is a previous recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee medal for outstanding public and community service.
