Fengate is part of consortium shortlisted for redevelopment of John H. Stroger Hospital Campus
Fengate received notification that the County Health Development Partners (CHDP) consortium was a shortlisted respondent to a request for proposal (RFP) issued by the Illinois’ Cook County Health System (CCHS). The CCHS is looking for a development partner for the programming, design and facility management of a future clinic, as well as an office building. The developer may revamp limited space in Stroger Hospital if needed and improve vehicular access to the facility.
The CHDP is made up of Navigant, Power Construction, Perkins & Will, Fengate Capital, Primera Engineers, Thornton Thomasetti, Terra Engineers and Honeywell and was one of three teams shortlisted for the redevelopment project.
The John H. Stroger Hospital in Chicago, Illinois is a 1.2 million-square-foot facility, with 300 attending physicians and 400 medical residents and fellows. The hospital also serves as the hub for the Cook County Bureau of Health Services for delivery of specialty and sub-specialty care.
“We are pleased to be selected by the CCHS as one of the shortlisted teams for this project,” said George Theodoropoulos, Managing Director of Infrastructure. “We are confident in our ability to deliver an exceptional value-for-money solution to the hospital and community in Chicago.”
This opportunity would allow Fengate Capital to bring best practices from past projects to the U.S. P3 sector, aligning with Fengate’s strategy for global expansion. Experience with public-private partnerships in the maturing Canadian market will allow Fengate Capital to forge a commercial structure that works for all parties involved. The Request for Proposal (RFP) is set to be due sometime in May, 2015.
