Canada's best managed Company

Fengate named one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies for eighth consecutive year

Fengate has achieved Platinum Club member status with Canada’s Best Managed Companies program by retaining their Best Managed designation for eight consecutive years. Sponsored by Deloitte, CIBC, National Post, Queen’s School of Business and MacKay CEO Forums, the Best Managed award recognizes Canadian owned and managed companies with revenues over C$10 million for sustained growth, financial performance, management practices and the efforts of the entire organization.

“Companies that earn Platinum Club status in the Canada’s Best Managed Companies program are true leaders in the Canadian marketplace,” said Jon Hountalas, Executive Vice-President, Business Banking, CIBC. “They exemplify strong vision and leadership, a sustained commitment to growth and innovation, and ongoing dedication to their corporate values.”

As a national leader in alternative asset management, Fengate’s success is built on its ability to identify and manage market-leading investment opportunities for their clients and partners, and build value through long-term investments. The firm has achieved Best Managed status by being strategically focused on attracting, investing in and retaining the talent needed to support their objectives while developing a praiseworthy workplace culture for their employees. “Our team of experienced professionals has a track-record of developing and executing compelling investment strategies for our investors,” said Lou Serafini Jr., President and CEO of Fengate.

One of Fengate’s accomplishments in 2014 includes a new office in Sydney, Australia, the headquarters for Asia-Pacific operations, benchmarking global reach for business opportunity. Greg Osborne, Managing Director, Infrastructure – Asia-Pacific, explains that Fengate Capital intends to “establish an infrastructure pipeline and asset management business with investors interested in Fengate’s global opportunities.”

Domestically, Fengate relocated the majority of their staff to a Class A office building in Oakville, Ontario. The new workplace atmosphere complements the innovative and distinctive business strategy the firm has embraced. The open concept design provides space devoted to team collaboration, technological improvements for increased production and floor-to-ceiling windows providing an abundance of natural light and complementing a modern, stream-lined decor.

While Fengate is proud of their development, they are still able to ground themselves in the roots of their business. “We strive to ensure that, as a team, we continue to instill the original values that our company was founded on in our rapidly changing and competitive business environment. It is through the dedication of our employees, loyal clients and partners that Fengate has earned the reputation of trusted partner,” said Lou Serafini Jr., President and CEO.

2014 winners of the Canada’s Best Managed Companies award, along with the Gold Standard winners, Requalified and Platinum Club members will be honoured at the annual Canada’s Best Managed Companies gala in Toronto on March 31, 2015. On the same date, the symposium will address leading-edge business issues that are key to the success of today’s business leaders.
