Lou Serafini Jr. a finalist for the 2014 Ontario Entrepreneur of the Year™ Award


Fengate is pleased to announce that Lou Serafini Jr., President and CEO, has been selected as a finalist for the 2014 Ontario Entrepreneur of the Year (“EOY”) Award.

As President and CEO of Fengate Capital, Mr. Serafini is responsible for the management of a portfolio of investments representing over C$1.7 billion in capital and has been responsible for securing over C$800 million in investor commitments for the infrastructure sector.

“I am very honoured to have been selected as a finalist for the Entrepreneur of the Year Award in Ontario and proud to be in the company of such distinguished business leaders,” said Lou Serafini Jr., President and CEO. “I am extremely fortunate to lead a dynamic and highly-qualified team at Fengate Capital. This announcement is further recognition of the strong and sustainable growth that we have achieved as a team.”

Mr. Serafini joined the Fengate group of companies in 1995 and has served as President since 2002. In 2000, he led the launch of the first fund managed by the Fengate group of companies – a commercial real estate fund focused on southwestern Ontario. In 2005, Mr. Serafini formed Fengate Capital Management Ltd. as a specialized asset management firm targeting alternative assets. In his capacity as President and CEO, Mr. Serafini has led the transformation of the firm from a regional real estate property management business to an alternative investment management firm with a global presence. Today, Fengate’s investments are diversified across Canada and include social infrastructure assets, transportation infrastructure, independent energy projects, commercial real estate buildings, and seniors’ retirement homes.

Entrepreneur Of The Year™ celebrates the contribution and spirit of entrepreneurs everywhere. The Canadian program is in its 21st year of honouring the country’s most impressive entrepreneurs from all areas of business. Award finalists are chosen based on their vision, leadership, financial success and social responsibility.

The Ontario winners will be announced at a gala on 29 October 2014. The overall Ontario winner will represent the region at the national gala held in Toronto on 25 November.
