Fengate achieves Platinum Club Member status as one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies
Fengate has achieved Platinum Club member status with Canada’s Best Managed Companies program by retaining their Best Managed designation for seven consecutive years. Canada’s Best Managed Companies is a national awards program recognizing Canadian-owned and managed companies with revenues over C$10 million. This prestigious award is sponsored by Deloitte, CIBC, National Post, Queen’s School of Business and MacKay CEO Forums.
“I want to congratulate Fengate on becoming a Platinum Club member. This designation exemplifies consistency, commitment and the ability to be flexible in a changing marketplace. These qualities are what makes Fengate such a great business success story and one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies,” said John Hughes, National Leader of Canada’s Best Managed Companies and Managing Partner, Growth Enterprises, Deloitte.
As a leader in alternatives asset management, Fengate’s success is built on its ability to identify and manage market-leading investment opportunities for their clients and partners, and building value through long-term investments. The firm has gained the trust of a growing group of institutional and high-net worth investors since its inception in 2000, having increased its capital under management from $133 million in 2005 to approximately $1.7 billion in 2014. Fengate has achieved Best Managed status by being strategically focused on attracting, investing and retaining the talent needed to support the Firm’s objectives. “Our team of experienced professionals has a track-record of developing and executing compelling investment strategies for our investors,” said Lou Serafini Jr., President and CEO of Fengate.
Established in 1993, the Canada’s Best Managed Companies is a national awards program, recognizing Canadian companies that have implemented world-class business practices and created value in innovative ways. Applications are reviewed by an independent judging panel that evaluates how companies address various business challenges, including new technologies, globalization, brand management, leadership, leveraging and developing core competencies, designing information systems, and hiring the right talent to facilitate growth.
“We are very proud to have achieved Platinum Club member status with Canada’s Best Managed Companies program. Our success today can be attributed to the original values that our company was built on when it was founded by my father in 1974: the values of trust and putting our clients’ interests first,” said Lou Serafini Jr., President and CEO. “We strive to ensure that, as a team, we continue to instill these values in our rapidly changing and competitive business environment. It is through the dedication of our employees, loyal clients and partners that Fengate Capital has earned the reputation of trusted partner.”
“Companies that earn Platinum Club status in the Canada’s Best Managed Companies program are true leaders in the Canadian marketplace,” said Jon Hountalas, Executive Vice-President, Business Banking, CIBC. “They exemplify strong vision and leadership, a sustained commitment to growth and innovation, and ongoing dedication to their corporate values.”
2013 winners of the Canada’s Best Managed Companies award, along with the Gold Standard winners, Requalified and Platinum Club members will be honoured at the annual Canada’s Best Managed Companies gala in Toronto on April 1, 2014. On the same date, the symposium will address leading-edge business issues that are key to the success of today’s business leaders.
